We were fortunate that the weather was on our side for this year’s Bays Cup, with the rain holding off until after the final end, allowing for an uninterrupted and enjoyable day of competition.
This year’s event saw an excellent turnout, with a record 34 teams competing in the 1–5 Year Players category. The tournament was played with great enthusiasm and in good spirit, showcasing the competitiveness and sportsmanship that exemplify our wider bowling community. The camaraderie and respect displayed throughout the day were a credit to all involved.
Special recognition is due to Tony Popperwell, whose tireless efforts in preparing the cards, calculating results, and organising winners and prize combinations ensured the day ran smoothly and efficiently.
Our sincere gratitude goes to our dedicated catering team — Rosemary, Flora, Glenda, and Colleen — who arrived early to prepare lunch for more than 70 participants.
And a very special thanks to Les Boulton for once again sponsoring this great event.
The positive feedback from participants was overwhelming, with many expressing their eagerness to return next year.
Thank you to everyone who contributed to making this year’s Bays Cup a successful and enjoyable occasion
