On Thursday 20 November a field of 29 teams contested the Forrest Funeral Services Open Pairs. A bye was necessary due to a late withdrawal due to illness
The weather was fine, hot and humid and a full day’s play was enjoyed by all who took part. Games were set at 12 ends with no time limit.
In surprising results, the first four teams were only separated by points scored:
First were Phil Chisholm and Theresa Rogers with 4 Wins, 32 Ends and 63points
Second were David Payne and Jodie Cottier with 4 Wins, 32 Ends and 57 Points.
Third were Brian Nolan and Garry Banks with 4 Wins, 32 Ends and 53 Points.
Fourth were Jan Gledhill and Gordon Jenkins with 4 Wins, 32 Ends and 52 Points.
The Daily Prize (for 20th place) went to a team that did not put their names on the card. Accordingly the Daily Prize went to the team who came 21st: Gleda Rountree and Judi Farkash
AM Prize David Eades and Ian Hardy with 17 Ends.
PM Prize Irene Donaldson and Lorna Donald also with 17 Ends.
Lucky Dips Brian Rogers and Tony Stanaway and the team who did not put their name on the card. The redraw went to Leon Wech and Bevyn Darlington.
THE MORAL IS: ENSURE YOU PUT YOUR NAMES ON THE CARD.
