Our club now has three bowling arms for club members to trial.

One size small and two size medium.

All three are the DHB HACKSAW BOWLING ARM the most popular brand being used and we have the two most used sizes.

One of them was kindly donated by our centurion John Miles.

These bowling arms are for practice use only for our men and women club bowlers to trial but CANNOT be taken away from the club.

There will be a greater emphasis going forward on restricting dumping on delivery, particularly when we recommence play on the renovated carpet green.

In protecting our investment in our greens we may well be asking you to either look at your delivery, get some coaching or look at using a bowling arm.

As our bodies age it is much harder to get down lower to deliver that perfect bowl.

As you can see around you, a number of our club members have already taken to using bowling arms and with very good success.

You can pop into the clubhouse match committee room and grab an arm to practise with.

There will be a register there, for you to sign and enter the time you take the arm out to practise and what time you return it.

Fridays from 9.30am to 11.00am come down to trial and for some coaching.

Any questions you can contact Alan Daniels.

These Bowling arms are quite expensive, so need to be looked after and not taken away from the club.

DHB Bowling Arm information (from Hunter Bowls website)

The DHB Bowling Arm is custom crafted to a very high degree of precision by a master craftsman using high tech materials. The DHB Arm is extremely light weight, an amazing 330g, yet still a very strong device. Easy to use for all bowlers, even for those with arthritis in their hands. Very little effort is needed to hold the bowl, just cup the hand over the lever and hold slightly. The Arm will grip the bowl with ease. To release, just straighten your fingers and your bowl will effortlessly leave the arm for a perfect release. This means it does not interfere with either your swing or weight perception so you can adjust to using it so much quicker. It is very user friendly and works for everyone!

The DHB Hacksaw Bowling Arm also has a unique added feature to hold a jack and enables you to deliver it with the same action as a bowl.

To find the best size for you, please measure your hand to ground length (please see photo below). From there, select the measurement closest to your hand to ground measurement. Stuck between sizes? The recommendation is to always go to the smaller one!
For example, if your hand to ground measurement is 740mm, you would be opting for the Small. You do not want to go up as the risk of hitting the ground when delivering your bowl.
These measurements are the HAND TO GROUND measurements recommended to select the best size of DHB Hacksaw Bowling Arm for your needs. Do not confuse this with your arm length.
– Extra Small: 680 mm
– Small: 720 mm
– Medium: 760 mm
– Large: 820 mm
– Extra Large: 880 mm
