The final day of our Silverfin 5’s series was played on St. Patrick’s Day, a beautiful autumn day with no wind, which was a treat.

Winners on the day were the team of Elaine, Bruce, Phil, Wendy and Colin with 5 ½ wins. In  second place with 4 ½  was Garth Partridge’s team minus Garth, but Tony Popplewell, Rosemary, Flora, and George Durbridge played as a team of four. In third place with 4 wins and 48 ends were  Peter, Jeanette, Allan, Gordon, and Mike. Fourth place with 4 wins and 47 ends went to Sheryl Jan, Sue, John & David

As this was the final day we announced an Overall winner, which was Elaine McClintock’s team with 88 points overall. Jan Harrison‘s team came in second with 65 points overall and Sheryl Wellington‘s team had 61 points overall giving them third place.

Alex Brown, Head of Compliance for Silverfin Capital was in attendance and presented the prizes. She also confirmed Silverfin Capital’s continued  sponsorship, and in fact with an increase in the value, which will enable us to have one extra prize each month next season. We are greatly indebted to Silverfin Capital for their  continued support, without which this tournament would not be possible.

Thanks to everyone who fielded a team each month. I know it was a challenge at times to find 5 willing & able players. Thank you to the people who filled in each month as required . A big thank you to members   who assisted each day with setting up the greens, setting up the kitchen, pouring our cups of tea (Barbara Friedlos who came each month to do just that),  selling the raffle tickets, and of course our wonderful bar staff. A special thank you to Warren Seque, from Orewa, playing in Jan Harrison’s team who was usually the first person up, to carry the trays of dirty cups into the kitchen. You are very welcome to join as a member anytime, Warren!!
