Seventy six teams entered the BNH A/C 2 x4x2 pairs over the weekend with teams from Auckland and afar.

Qualifying was at several venues on Saturday including Mairangi Bay.

Winners from each section qualified for the main event post section while the second team in each section qualified for the plate event.

Our teams were:

Julie Chhour and David Payne.

Barry Baillie and Irene Donaldson.

Judi Farkash in a composite team with Evan Thomas.

Elaine McClintock and Gerry Strydom.

Phil Chisholm and Theresa Rogers.

Hanaan Shahwan in a composite team with John Coogan.

Julie and David had two wins and finished second  to qualify for the plate.

Barry and Irene had two wins and a draw to win their section.

Judi and Evan had one win and did not qualify.

Elaine and Gerry only had one win also and did not qualify.

Phil and Theresa had two wins but finished first in their section on differential.

Hanaan and John had one win and did not qualify.

 

In the plate finals on Sunday, Julie and David had a bye in round 1.

In round 2 they had a top win over Grant Keats and Adele Ineson from Takapuna 11-7.

In the quarter-final they were defeated by Lindsay Gilmore and Matt Berry from Browns Bay 3-16.

In the main event finals on Sunday, Barry and Irene had a bye in round 1.

Phil and Theresa, had a good win over Mike Haggart and Robbie Henson 11-8

In round 2, Barry and Irene were defeated by a Mt Albert team 8-11.

Phil and Theresa were also defeated by a strong Thames Valley team 6-11.

Well done to those three teams that made it through to the finals on Sunday, this is a very strong and competetive event. The semi-finals and finals will be completed this coming Saturday 20th June at Manly Bowling Club..
