It was a challenging day for bowls, with really strong winds. We had 18 teams playing (my thanks to Roger Potter, Queenie de la Croix & Helen Aley who filled in so we did not have a bye).
We had two teams with 4 wins, first was Sheryl Wellington, David LLoydd and Tony Trent with 4 wins, 31 ends and 61 points. Second with 4 wins also was Grant Keats, Trish Hardy and Ian Hardy but they had 4 wins, 27 ends and 46 points. Third with 3 1/2 wins, 28 ends and 43 points was Peter Orgias, Jeanette Orgias and Geraldine Wight. The Daily Prize with 2 wins in the morning, 15 ends and 29 points was Jan Gledhill, Allan Langley and Phil Chisholm, The Lucky Dip went to Enid Di Cesare, Ian McGovern and Robyn Pittams.
Next month the top 10 teams play for the cup while the remaining teams play in the plate division. This year we had 3 teams with 16 points. however only 2 of the teams could play in the top section. To find the 2 teams i had to go back through the cards for each game to work out who had the most wins, ends and points, As a result of this the teams of Irene Donaldson, Kerin Roberts and Lorna Donald had 6 wins, 108 ends and 168 points, next was the team of George Durbridge, John Lindsay and Lance Govender with 6 wins, 66 ends and 120 points. The unlucky team that missed out was Alan Daniels, Joy Watkinson and Mike Jelley who had 4 wins, 97 ends and 177 points.
