The MBBC Fund Raiser Fashion Show was held on Wednesday 30 October. Tickets had sold out by Monday 28th.
A big thank you to those club members who purchased tickets, sold tickets to their family & friends or just made a donation. It all helped to make this a very successful fund raiser.
Final numbers are not in yet but it is looking good & I will report in when all the numbers have been tallied.
A lot of people put in a big effort to ensure this event was a success. A huge thank you to Gerd, Jo, Gaye & David for the fantastic catering, & to those Club members who came early to help serve the food.
Garth did a magnificent job, stepping in to MC the event & oversee the music. Thank you to Ian Baxter who sold over $500 worth of raffle tickets, Larry, who poured over 140 glasses of bubbles & orange juice, Neville who manned the bar & Tony James who helped out when and where he was needed.
Thank you to Gayle who manned the door, collecting over $900 in ticket sales. And a special thank you to John & Jan who did a great job in helping set up. Their combined efforts along with Gaye, Jo and Gerd ensured our Club rooms looked fantastic. Thank you also to those Club members who stayed on after the show to clean up so the Men’s Thursday Tournament could proceed unimpeded. We should be very proud of the way our Club Members respond when there are jobs to be done.
Thanks also to Peter McCracken, a friend of David & Cathy who allowed himself to be persuaded to be our photographer for the night. We are looking forward to seeing the photos.
A sincere THANK YOU to Sarah from Sarah’s Boutique for her outstanding generosity in sourcing & providing, not only the garments but virtually all the door & raffle prizes. Many of the prizes were valued at over $120 so there were many happy attendees by the end of the show.
Finally a huge thank you to our models virtually all of whom were Club members or family members. They did a tremendous job looking fabulous, showing off the clothes and looking as if they were having a great time doing so! Thank you Jo, Theresa, Margaret, Gaye, Colleen & all the daughters, grand daughters & daughters in law & friends
