Another stunning day weather-wise and a full field of 36 players for the Saturday pm Haggle with all nine rinks on the carpet being utilised. Unfortunately there were members and visitors who attempted to enter at the last minute and they could not be accommodated, which highlights the importance of getting your entry in as early as you can.
Today’s winning team was David Payne and Mick Taylor with 3 wins, 14 ends and 21 points.

Second were Arthur Beale and John Lindsay with 3 wins and 13 ends and they beat the other 3 winning team of Ian Hardy and Jim Center who had 12 ends.
So 3 three winning team out of 18 and the best of the two winners was the team of Alan Telford and Graham Ward.
Well done to all for making the afternoon a fun event, many thanks to the organisers and those who participated in the working bee earlier in the day. Our club only functions with the help of you who volunteer your time and we appreciate all of you and your efforts.
Next Saturday is the opening day and therefore no haggle.
There will be an event starting at 1:00pm followed by the opening day afternoon tea at 3:00pm. This signals the start of the season and so the end of mufti for the club events. We have a number of new members to welcome to the club and, although there is a clash with the Bowls North Harbour 2-4-2 competition, there will be a good turn out and it will make a solid start to what could be yet another successful season for our club.
While there is already a good number of names down for the opening day event and the following social event and it is still open if you wish to attend one or both.
