Prize Giving 2019-2020 season.
As you all know we were forced to cancel our club prize giving due to Covid – 19 lock down. It has been quite difficult to find an alternative date as the Centre and our club has had to complete events cancelled by the lock down. The most convenient date is now our new season’s Opening Day! So, we will hold the 2019-2020 season’s prize giving at 1.00pm on opening day for the 2020-2021 season; Saturday September 12th. Dress code due to the fact that it is also opening day is club colours or whites. Photos of winners will be taken so if possible, we would like all those receiving prizes to attend.

Opening Day.
As noted above the club opening day for the new season is Saturday September 12th commencing 1.00pm. Following the prizegiving there will be the formal season opening followed by afternoon tea. Please could everyone attending bring a plate.

Working Bee.
As in past seasons it is necessary to hold a working bee to “spruce up” the clubrooms prior to the new season’s opening. This is scheduled for Saturday September 5th. Please put this in your diary as we need as many members as possible to assist on the day commencing at 9.00am.

Bowls North Harbour Awards Ceremony.
The BNH awards ceremony for the 2019-2020 season is being held on Sunday August 16th. Please let Jo Baxter know if you are intending to attend as BNH have asked for approx. numbers.

Due to Covid 19 impacting on Ian Coombe’s annual winter sojourn to the Sunshine Coast he is available for coaching should anyone wish to brush up on their technique or iron out any problems they may be having with their delivery or other aspects of the game. He can be contacted on  479 4122 or 021 612 518 . He’s happy to help.

BNH Awards Ceremony.
This will be held at Orewa Bowling Club on Sunday 16 August commencing at 1.00pm.  BNH need to know the number of people planning to attend. Please advise Jo by email scousechik@orcon.net.nz  ASAP if you are planning to attend. Some of our Club members will be receiving awards & it would be nice for them to have some support.

Italian Evening.
What a great evening!  Planned and organised by Barry McCrystal and assisted on the night by his willing band of helpers. With over 90 club members, spouses and friends enjoying music from Keith Berman and his band, food supplied by La Spiaggia Ristorante in Murrays Bay, a series of Italian trivia questions, raffles for some very worthwhile donated prizes, there was a great social atmosphere and it was an evening to remember. Thanks to all those who assisted with the evening and also to those who attended. We hear that a repeat for next year is being talked about.

Pattaya Restaurant Evening.
Pattaya Restaurant, Mairangi Bay, has, over a number of years, supported our club.  In return we have in the past organised several “club members dinners” at the restaurant. We are planning to support them again by holding an evening meal at the restaurant on Wednesday August 26th. The restaurant can only seat 40 patrons so the 1st 40 people  to register with Stuart Jamieson email Jamieson_family@xtra.co.nz or Ph 4785566  will be able to attend. Attendance is not restricted to club members. It would be great if we can get a full complement of 40 to show our appreciation to the restaurant owners for their support.

The restaurant will arrange 5 tables to seat 8 persons. You may arrive at any time between 6.00 and 8.00pm, with first orders being taken at 6.15 pm and thereafter at approx. 10-minute intervals as required. The restaurant cannot cook 40 meals at once, so please understand if you need to wait a little. Pattaya is BYO (wine only) with other drinks, including wine and non-alcoholic available for purchase if required. Their full menu is available and individual accounts will be prepared. Please settle your account before departing. We look forward to seeing you there.
