Hi Everyone,
Please find a Junior update;
Lots of bowls at the moment with the weather being reasonably kind.

I have attached a flyer for the Mangawhai Junior Classic 1-5 year fours.  This is a great tournament and is always held on December 27th which this year is on a Sunday.

Organize a team and put your entry in. Details on the form.

The second/third attachment is for the Milford 5000  to be held on Saturday /Sunday 30/31st of January 2021.

$5000 worth of cash prizes, two bowl triples, 1-8 year bowlers with each team to include at least one 1-5 year bowler.

The first day is qualifying, after which the top 16 teams will be playing for the cup on Sunday and the bottom 16 playing for the Plate.  This is usually a very strong competition but a great way to test yourself and gain experience.  The entry fee is $195 per team, $65 each player.  This includes morning tea and lunch on both days and a chance to win some money. ( I only go for the food!!)

If you are unable to set up a team let me know and I can see if I can help you with organizing one.

An excellent result for two of our second-year Juniors in the Women’s Handicap pairs with both Flora Macdonald and Rosemary Nicol both making the final, playing against each other.  Both played some great bowls over the weekend, Rosemary along with Jo Baxter came out on top over Jeanette Orgias and Flora.

Congratulations to Gaye Horne who has made the latest North Harbour Women`s 1-5 rep team.

Great to see all the 1-5 juniors out playing in the haggle and Thursday pairs and triples.  One tip though, it is not recommended to beat the Junior Convenor when his team is going for their 4th win of the day when playing a team of juniors who had not had a win on the day (Rick,Rick and Stuart).

Also the same to Glenda who took out the Junior Convenors shot bowl not once but twice in Saturdays haggle, and along with Colleen caused the Junior Convenors only loss.

Just a reminder I am a selector as well and these things will not be forgotten.

A big day this coming Tuesday with the Arena tournament being run on the first Tuesday of the month which is also Melbourne Cup day.  Sweepstakes will be available and we should be able to watch the race live around 5 pm.

See you then.

Tip of the week: before you bowl, ensure you have the right bias, that includes some of the more experienced bowlers, eh Gayle?

When you put your gold coin into the box, it needs to be a loud ring on the bell.

 Good bowling to all.
