Friday 25 September was a sad day for the Mairangi Bay Bowling Club.
On that day, former President Kevin Cameron passed peacefully away after battling a brain tumour.

Kevin was a popular and respected member of our club and he will be very much missed by all members. He came to the club from Wellington in 2006 and, apart from a 12-month stint in the Passport Office at the New Zealand embassy in Washington DC, he remained a member up to his death.

Kevin served as President of the club for four years from 2020 to 2024. His ultimate achievement on the greens came in 2017 when he was a member the national championship-winning Men’s Division 1 Sevens team. His name appears repeatedlyon the clubs Honours Board as having won the Junior Singles in 2008 and the Senior Mens’ Singles title 10 years later in 2018, as well as being a member of club championship-winning Fours teams through the years.
Members will be aware that Kevin lost the love of his life, his wife Judy, in 2021. They met when Judy was just 14 years old and while we mourn his passing, we can only cheer the fact that they are now reunited.
