We finally got a triples tournament underway after the previous three triples tournaments were cancelled due to the weather, but the weather did have the final say, with the last game being cancelled and the third game shortened due to the showers becoming more frequent and heavy.

Nineteen teams played two bowl triples, with one bonus point up for grabs each end after the leads had finished.
There was only one three winner so first was Lindsay Gilmore, Bruce McClintock and Colin Rogan. In second place, with two wins and a draw was Evan Thomas, Bevan Smith and Dennis Hale. There were nine two winners, the best of them, with 23 ends taking out third place, was Chris Taylor, Murray Mathieson and Jan Colcott. A bit of a bonus day for the visitors.

There were two contenders for the morning prize, which went to Murray Radojkovich, Barry McCrystal and Steve McGregor with 17 ends. Because there was only one game in the afternoon, the pm prize was awarded to the next best two winner, which was Elaine McClintock, Judi Farkash and Adele Ineson, with 16 ends. Lucky dip was won by Flora MacDonald, Stuart Mackay and Brian Rogers.

We have been fortunate to have had morning tea on Thursdays during the summer season, prepared for us by a team led by Linda Valentine. Today was the last morning tea for the season, so Vice President Tony James thanked Linda for leading her team and made a small presentation to her. Lynette Lindsay has assisted Linda on many of the morning teas and today gave us home made chocolate brownie with icing and walnut on top, so Tony thanked her too and gave her a small gift as a mark of appreciation.
Next week will be on the carpet but is the last of the summer season bowls, so usual summer dress code please.
