Seventeen teams competed in the final tournament of the winter season. Because it was the last tournament for the winter, and to keep the majority happy on this special occasion, a survey was conducted when the cards were collected, about whether we should play two or three bowls, and was overwhelmingly in favour of two bowls, so two bowls it was.
There were two four winners and two three and a half winners, but only three prizes.
Best of the four winners was Irene Donaldson, Barry McCrystal and Rosemary Nicol, with 31 ends. Second was Gordon Jenkins, Allan Langley and Russ Noble with 27 ends.
It was very close with the three and a half winners, both teams having 27 ends, but third place taken by Lindsay Gilmore, Evan Thomas and Bruce McClintock with 58 points for.
Tenth was Gerry Strydom, Graeme McGregor and Muy Chhour with two wins, 23 ends and 49 points for.
The daily prize this week was the team coming in fifteenth place. There were three teams vying for this, all having the same number of wins. The best of these, with 19 ends, was Glenda Rountree, Hanaan Shawan and Judi Farkash.
Lucky dip went to Andrea Grant, Ian Glogoski and Louis Cooper.
Thanks to all who helped with the many tasks that need to be done during the day to make the tournament run smoothly and be enjoyable for all. Even the weather played ball (sort of). Special thanks to the teams from other clubs who have supported our tournaments during the winter.
Many people noticed the newly repainted seats around the green, thank you Stuart Mackay and Tony Stanaway for giving these a spruce up.
