A good day for bowls with the rain holding off until after we had finished. We had 26 teams entered for this months Arvida Living Mixed Triples tournament with teams/people from Gisborne, Takapuna, Hobsonville, Orewa, Browns Bay, Birkenhead and Milford. Ange Brown from Arvida came for the prize giving and said Arvida have agreed to carry on their sponsorship for another year, which we greatly appreciate.
The winners with 4 wins, 37 ends and 52 points were Alison & Ron Rennie and Elwyn Beatson.
Second with 4 wins, 34 ends and 57 points were Ian & Sandra Coombe and Bruce Aley.
Third with 4 wins also but with 31 ends & 62 points were Gaye & Ron Horne and Tony James.
Fourth with 3 1/2 wins, 30 ends and 64 points were Colin Rogan, Bruce & Elaine McClintock.
Fifth with 3 wins, 32 ends & 52 points were Phil Chisholm, Jan Gledhill and Alan Langley.
The top 10 teams will play the final on May 3 (this last date is in the book as Ladies Triples but will now be the Arena finals). The remaining teams will play the plate division.
