The Molecheck Auckland women’s singles was played over the weekend.
Elaine McClintock won all three games to top her section.
Judi Farkash won two of her three games and qualified top on differential.
Julie Chhour lost all her games losing one to Skye Rene’s 17-18.
Jodie Cottier had two wins and just missed out on qualifying on differential.

In the round of 16, Elaine defeated Linda Ralph from Carlton-Cornwall 19-16, to go in the Cup section.
Judi lost to Lesley McClinden from Royal Oak 21-19 to drop into the plate section.

In the cup quarter finals, Elaine lost to Lisa White from Raumati, the eventual winner, 7-21.
Judi lost her plate semi-final to Sara Childs from Howick 9-21.

Lisa White won the Cup final 21-8 and Linda Ralph won the Plate final 21-17.

Well done to Elaine and Judi for getting so far in what is a very strong tournament. Also well done to Julie and Jodie for entering while still in their 1-5 years and performing very well.

The Bowls North Harbour Ivan Kostanich OPEN men’s singles was also played over the weekend.

David Payne won two of his three matches losing to Bruce Shirley from Manly who made the semi-final.
Michael Thomas won one of his three matches.
Phil Chisholm had two wins, losing his third to Brian Wilson, last year’s champion.
Barry Baillie won one of his matches, a good effort as he starts his fourth year.
Wayne Glogoski won two matches losing his third to Jerry Belcher.
Michael Jelley had two wins missing qualifying on differential.

As with the women’s this is a very tough tournament to qualify for, let alone win.  Well done to our singles players.

The winner was Mathew Higginson from Orewa beating Stephen Campbell from Howick 3 match points to 0.
