Thirteen entries, so five pairs and one triples teams enjoyed a pleasantly warm afternoon of bowls. Play was east-west which meant play was almost directly into the wind one way and with it the other, and with the wind increasing and becoming more gusty as the afternoon wore on, adjusting for this became difficult, as the photo below shows (players’ identities deliberately not included but some clues from the colour of the bowls?) In one end of the last game, one rink had seven of their 12 bowls on the bank!

As usual, thanks to all those who helped make the day successful and enjoyable – setting up, marking the green, the raffle, the bar, and packing up.

The prize for the highest + differential was shared between Russell Parkinson and Muy Chhour and Alison Rennie and Bill Lowe, with +19. The prize for the biggest – differential went to David Hope and Joy Finney. Gerd Hutchison and Helen Bartley tried to find the joker and win $300 but were unsuccessful, however they struck the lucky differential (+12) and won $150. Gerd was on a winning streak collecting a couple of prizes in the raffle too.

Thanks to SKINTEL for sponsoring this monthly tournament.
