There was a bye due to the late withdrawal of a team, so twenty seven teams participated in pleasant conditions, especially in the morning, with the temperature rising in the afternoon and the breeze settling and filling in as the afternoon progressed.
The entry list indicated 30 teams entered so 30 cards were prepared and distributed. Unfortunately numbers 26 and 27 didn’t exist on the entry sheet, so really only 28 teams. After a hurried collection of cards and preparation of new cards all was resolved and play started on time – four games of three bowls and 12 ends.

First place went to the only four winner – Ian Hardie and David Eade.
Second, with three wins and a draw was Bruce McClintock and Colin Rogan, who had to work hard against Jan Gledhill and Gordon Jenkins, to secure the draw.
Third was the best of the several three winners, with 29 ends was Glenda Rountree and Judi Farkash.
Fourth, with three wins and 28 ends was Colleen Rice and Sheryl Wellington.

The prize for 20th place went to Irene Donaldson and Lorna Donald, with one win and 26 ends.
Peter Orgias and Allan Langley narrowly secured the morning prize with two wins and 15 ends, while Evan Thomas and Bevyn Smith won the afternoon prize with two wins and 18 ends.
Lucky dips went to John Gledhill and Glynn Taylor and George Jones and Tony Trent.

Thanks to all who helped in the many ways that made the day successful and enjoyable, especially the thoughtful person who turned the air conditioning on so that the club rooms were nice and cool at the conclusion of play.
