This new competition of Bowls3five will be played on weeknights during February and March. There are three nights of the week (Tues, Wed & Thur) which have been scheduled and will depend on what section of the draw teams are in, as to which nights they will be playing. It is expected that one game will be played each night.
A team consists of three triples teams playing 2 bowls. (That is, 9 players per team). Each triples team must contain at least one man and one woman with the third player being either gender. (This is the same composition as the mixed triples played in the Pennants competition.) The club can enter a maximum of two teams.
This competition is run under the umbrella of Bowls New Zealand and effectively replaces the national sevens competition played in the previous season. The winner of the North Harbour competition will progress to the regional final and then to the national finals if qualified.
The competition is scheduled to commence in the week of 5 February 2019 and the finals are scheduled for the week of 26 March 2019.
Venues and competition format will be dependent on entries received. The full conditions of play will be available with the draw. Entries close on 16 January 2019 at the Bowls North Harbour office.
The selectors invite those players wishing to be considered for a team to enter your names below. Please indicate any dates which you are not available for.
This list will close on Friday 11 January 2019 for the selectors to gauge how many teams can be entered and then to make the selections. If you are not able to make it down to the club to enter, please contact Tony Popplewell. rowpop4@xtra.co.nz
